Qualification of
Nails

Quality and length of
nail:
In most cases, the quality of nail is not important
because most of it is cut and only the head of nail and a short part of
its body remains in the rivet and segments.
Usually the nail is made of steel to have enough
strength for riveting, but Parch Saz Co. galvanizes nails to avoid
rustiness even in stores.
If it is important that the remained part of nail be
stainless, the nail should be made of stainless steel or more resistant
aluminum than the body of rivet.
The length of nail for rivets with 3 or 4 mm diameter
should be about 26 or 28 mm longer than rivet. In this case jaws of
riveting machine can take the nail to pull it. The nail in rivets with 5
or 6 mm length should be 30 mm longer.
